A 12-Day Exploration of Culture, Nature, and Heritage

Embark on an unforgettable 17-night adventure through Sri Lanka’s most
captivating destinations. This itinerary combines cultural landmarks, natural
wonders, and luxurious accommodations to ensure a memorable experience.

Day 1-2: Arrival in Colombo and Transfer to Sigiriya

  • Day 1: Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo. Meet your
    guide and transfer to Sigiriya Jungles in
    Sigiriya (approximately 150 km, 4-hour drive).
    Check-in and relax after your journey.
  • Day 2: Visit the iconic Sigiriya Rock
    Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In
    the afternoon, explore the ancient city of
    Polonnaruwa, known for its well-preserved
    ruins.

Day 3-4: Kandy

  • Day 3: Depart for Kandy, stopping en route at
    the Dambulla Cave Temple, famous for its intricate
    cave paintings and statues. Continue to The Golden
    Crown Hotel in Kandy (approximately 90 km, 2.5-hour
    drive). In the evening, witness a traditional Kandyan
    dance performance.
  • Day 4: Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth
    Relic, one of the most sacred Buddhist sites. Later,
    explore the Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, home
    to a vast collection of flora.

Day 5-7: Nuwara Eliya

  • Day 5: Travel to Nuwara Eliya, known as “Little
    England” for its colonial charm. En route, visit a
    tea plantation and factory to learn about Sri
    Lanka’s renowned tea industry. Check-in at
    Araliya Red (approximately 80 km, 2.5-hour
    drive).
  • Day 6: Explore Horton Plains National Park,
    embarking on a trek to World’s End, a sheer cliff
    with breathtaking views. In the afternoon, relax
    by Gregory Lake or visit the Hakgala Botanical
    Gardens.
  • Day 7: Visit the picturesque Ramboda Falls and explore the town’s local

Day 8-9: Ella

    to Ella, renowned for its stunning landscapes.

    views. Later, explore the Ravana Falls and the

Day 10-11: Yala

    km, 2.5-hour drive).

Day 12-13: Dickwella

  • Day 12: Travel to the coastal town of Dickwella. Check-in at Dickwella
    Resort & Spa (approximately 90 km, 2-hour drive). Spend the afternoon
    relaxing on the pristine beaches.
  •  Day 13: Visit the Hummanaya Blowhole, the second-largest of its kind in the
    world. Later, explore the Wewurukannala Vihara Temple, known for its giant
    Buddha statue.

Day 14-15: Mirissa

  • Day 14: Proceed to Mirissa, a coastal haven famed for its whale watching
    opportunities. Check-in at Mandara Resort (approximately 30 km, 45-minute
    drive.
  • Day 15: Embark on a whale watching tour in the early morning. In the
    afternoon, relax on the beach or visit the nearby Coconut Tree Hill for
    stunning sunset views.

Day 16-17: Bentota

  • Day 16: Head to Bentota, known for its
    serene beaches and water sports. Check-in at
    Cinnamon Bentota Beach (approximately 110
    km, 2.5-hour drive).
  • Day 17: Enjoy a boat safari on the Madu
    River, exploring its rich biodiversity. Later,
    visit a turtle hatchery dedicated to the

Day 18: Departure from Colombo
